With over 35 years in the security industry, David brings a wealth of practical security expertise together with additional specialist knowledge from industry experts through global associates.

David’s career began with the Board of Deputies of British Jews security department - the predecessor to Community Security Trust (CST) a registered charity. He moved to Manchester in 1998 as CST’s first Northern Regional Director developing the organisations operational capabilities. A key aspect of his role involved fostering close collaborative partnerships with the police, local authorities, and other stakeholders. In July 2013 David was appointed as Chief Executive.

He has led numerous highly complex security operations and was CST's lead on Crisis Management and Emergency planning work for the UK Jewish community. David was a founder Member of the European Jewish Congress's SACC (Security and Crisis Centre) Core Management team encouraging and assisting other communities in Europe to create and test Crisis Management plans.

In 2016, David championed the creation of CST’s state of the art 24/7 National Security Control Centre which has direct access to over 4200 CCTV cameras at over 300 Jewish locations as well as direct digital radio contact with each of these sites.

In 2019, David set up SAFE (Security Advice for Everyone) a division of CST which aims to improve the security of the UK’s faith and minority communities. Through SAFE, CST shares over 75 years of experience, raising awareness of threats faced with practical security advice for over 37,000 places of worship with the added benefit of improving community cohesion.

In February 2021, David was appointed as a founding member of the Community Security Service’s (CSS) “Security Advisory Council” – the leading voluntary security organisation for the American Jewish Community.

In recognition of his "Services to the Jewish Community," David was honoured with the title of Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the New Year Honours of 2021.
